05 - Regions
A small Switzerland in every leaf.
Nine landscapes, nine climates, nine soils. Each region writes its own signature into the leaf - and into our vintages.

„Every region leaves its signature on the leaf.“
Why regions matter
Origin is more than a country.
Like grapevines or coffee plants, tobacco is also shaped by its location. Soil structure, climate, sunlight and rainfall influence growth, leaf structure and maturity.
That is why we view origin not just as Switzerland, but as the interplay of many regions.
Swiss Tobacco Growing Regions
Broye Plain
Schweizer Terroir
„Tobacco grows in Switzerland. Character arises in its regions.“
Broye Plain · Cugy
Harvested by hand. Shaped by landscape.
The Broye Plain has been one of Switzerland's most important tobacco regions for generations. Here, experience, agriculture and tobacco culture converge.
That is why our traditional fermentation is also located in Payerne - in the heart of a region that continues to shape Swiss tobacco cultivation to this day.

Landscape in the leaf
Every harvest carries its own story.
Tobacco does not grow independently of its surroundings. Every landscape leaves traces on the leaf.
Sun, soil, rainfall and altitude form new nuances year after year. That is why every harvest carries its own story within it.

Terroir
What does terroir mean?
Terroir describes the interplay of soil, climate, landscape and the course of the year. It shapes the character of a natural product long before it is processed.
