Where Switzerland reaches the water.
Heimat Original is the only cigarette made with 100% Swiss tobacco — grown, fermented and processed in Switzerland. A manufactory in Steinach on Lake Constance, where the land turns into orchards, fields and the wide blue of the lake. Here a culture lives on that has long faded elsewhere.

We are
fourteen people.
No corporation. No marketing brand. No idea born in a department.
We are a manufactory in the original sense of the word - a place where, by hand, things are made that elsewhere have long been left to machines.
We believe in plants. And in people who take them seriously.
Because at the beginning of everything there is no product. There is a leaf that was allowed to grow, and someone who never let it out of sight.
And what lives on through us this way cannot be found a second time. Real Swiss tobacco.
One of a kind
There are countless tobacco manufactories. Large, small, old, new.
But there is no second one that sources its tobacco entirely from Swiss cultivation.
Heimat Original is the only manufactory in the world that processes exclusively Swiss tobacco. Not a single leaf from another continent. No anonymous large plantation. No blend that blurs origin.

Our fields are not just anywhere. They are where we know the soils, know the farmers, and know the story behind every single leaf.
An almost forgotten culture.
For generations, tobacco was part of the image of this country. Fields were tended, leaves harvested, dried, fermented - knowledge passed from hand to hand and from father to daughter.
Much of it has disappeared. Shut down, forgotten, abandoned.
We believe it did not deserve that.
For many, tobacco today is only an industry. For us, it is a cultural asset - a piece of agriculture, a piece of craft, a piece of Swiss history.
We love this material. We stand for it. And we carry on an almost lost tradition - not out of nostalgia, but out of respect for a craft that has grown over decades.
Honest. Untreated. As nature intends it.
Character is not born in a lab. It is born in the field.
Our tobacco stays as natural as possible - no artificial flavouring, no casing, no unnecessary additives. What nature brings forth, we do not treat. We simply leave it well alone.
What shapes our tobacco comes from the soil, the climate, the harvest and the ripening. Plus pure spring water from the Swiss mountains - an origin that cannot be recreated.
As good wine carries the handwriting of its vintage, our tobacco carries the handwriting of its origin.
Our cultivation meets every requirement for organic quality - not as a label, but as the natural consequence of how we work.
From field to hand. Literally.
To this day, the tobacco harvest remains one of the most demanding tasks in agriculture.
Every leaf is picked individually, by hand. It is exhausting and slow - but it is the only way to handle the leaves gently enough to preserve their natural properties.
Then comes what takes time: the leaves are sorted, dried and ripen slowly. Much of it still happens with experienced hands and a trained eye, in the rhythm of the seasons and not in the pace of a machine.
Not everything that is modern is therefore better. Some things deserve to be preserved by hand.
We work with precision. And with something no machine will ever replace: feeling.
A hand can feel whether a leaf is ripe. It notices when something is off. This knowledge is in no manual - it lives only in the people who pass it on.
In the rhythm of nature.
Nature knows no quarterly targets. No production quotas. No shortcuts.
It gives only what it is ready to give.
That is why we do not produce as much as possible, but as well as possible. We work with the harvests, with the qualities of every single batch, with the patience real tobacco demands.
Because it is not made at the push of a button. It is made with time.
Perhaps this is the true lesson of tobacco: the best cannot be forced. It must be allowed to grow.
Rooted here. Staying here.
Our production takes place entirely in Steinach on Lake Constance.
We do not outsource. We do not move value into low-wage countries. We do not relocate jobs.
Because origin, for us, means responsibility: whoever sells Swiss tobacco should make it in Switzerland too.
So our workplaces stay here. Our investments stay here. And the returns stay where the work is done - in our region.
